Hispanic Ministries

	Hispanic Ministries The New England Mission Center partners ecumenically in Downeast Maine to provide ministries to Spanish-speaking migrant workers in the area. Migrant Ministries In partnership with the Downeast Maine Missions (DMC), the New England Mission Center offers ministry to the many Hispanic family groups which travel to Maine for the "picking season" or who live in Maine year-round. The coalition provides open-air worship services in the work camps, blankets, food and Spanish-language bibles. Hispanic Church To minister to the year-round migrant families, regularly scheduled services are held in an old, unused Union Church in Columbia, Maine. Families that care for this historical building granted permission for church services to be held. Services are scheduled as needed and are held on Saturday evenings. The worship includes songs in English and Spanish, prayer, preaching and English lessons. One Friday evening per month is family night out, and special activities are scheduled.
